Raindrops
Long day today. First we visited an underground secret bullet factory from the days of Palmach/Haganah, next to Rehovot: the Ayalon Institute. A real fascinating story, well worth the visit, how during the days of the British Mandate a group of young scouts were able to produce over 2 million bullets for Sten guns in an underground facility literally under the nose of the British army. The kids enjoyed, as these pictures can attest to.
We then continued to Hashmona'im to visit friends in their brand new residence, and finally to visit my brother Rafi and his family in Modi'in. Saba and Savta came to visit as well. Everyone had a lot of fun, a lot of good food, we watched a video Rafi made of last week's עליה Dani had at the Kotel, the kids played outside...a nice long day with everyone coming home tired. Once again I forgot my camera, so all I have here are lo-rez pics taken with my phone.
Just as we were getting ready to leave, we felt something that is always welcome in this country, but also special since tomorrow is the beginning of סוכות: a few raindrops.
